Rudi Garcia: 'There is no need to be ashamed of that loss!'

Olympique Marseille's coach Rudi Garcia was disappointed after the Atletico Madrid 0:0 loss in the Europa League final. But he thinks his players do not have to be ashamed of it because they have lost a game against a very strong rival.
'We missed our options in the first half. We had a great chance of finding the result, and shortly afterwards a mistake led to a goal in favor of the opponent. Against a team like Atletico Madrid you should not be lagging behind in the result, because then it becomes very difficult. They raised their level of play in the second part, and luck was not with us when Mitroglu hit the beam. If we then scored, it would give us a chance to get back into the match. Atletico is a great team and there is no need to be ashamed of this loss!', Garcia said. The coach said he had taken the risk of relegating Dimitri Payet, who was not in the optimal position before the game.

'I decided to start the match predicted by live sport events with Payet, who is one of our best players. Though not in the optimum state, it was he who created our best position, bringing Germinal. After leaving the game, we also missed the static positions. Atletico is a team that allows goals from such situations. I was hoping he would be 100% ready and did a fitness test in the morning. He was worried if he could kick the ball strong enough. His injury was not complicated during the match, he just was not quite healthy before, but risks should be taken in such meetings!', said the specialist.
