Baseball tip McEnroe sees Murray again at the top after 9 months

John McEnroe says he believes Andy Murray can replicate what Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have done and find their way back to the top.

After almost a year out of court due to a thigh injury and surgery resulting from it, the Scot finally returned to Tura in June this season. However, he did not do it in full force, but took a more gradual approach, ending his tennis year earlier so that he could prepare and recover for 2019.

He has been one of the best players in the last 10 years, winning Grand Slam titles thanks to his athleticism. If it is again 100% or at least close to 100%, I expect it to return to the top 10 in the next six to nine months. However, if it is 80%, the picture is completely different.

Looking at what Federer did at 36, Nadal Djokovic suddenly turned into old Djokovic this season, so I`m sure Murray sees this and thinks: I should be able to do something like that.

In the absence of Murray, Kyle Edmund became the first rocket in the UK. The 23-year-old reached the Australian Open semifinals and took his first ATP trophy, finishing 14th in the rankings:

The top 10 is a realistic goal for him, but he will feel a lot of tension early in the season. If he doesn`t, he`ll fall out of the top 20. He has to be emotionally stable, knowing that the year is yet to come.
